Cofounder and owner of Business Growth Network, Jena Apgar of Warfare Marketing, was recently featured in VoyageDallas, an online publication that wants to highlight the best of Dallas – from freelance makeup artists that will dazzle you to the best Meetup groups in town.
VoyageDallas started as the Voyage Group of Magazines in Los Angeles, with their flagship publication VoyageLA. After generating their first million page views in LA, they knew their content was resonating with the community.
They’ve since grown to Dallas and a handful of other amazing cities with the help of an amazing network of friends, associates, local insiders and influencers, PR firms, local bloggers, artists, creatives, entrepreneurs and other professionals.
Warfare Marketing, Business Growth Network and MomBoss.Club all had the distinct pleasure of being featured in the publication.
The Problem with VoyageDallas
They aren’t really doing “interviews” with those they feature. You get nominated by a fellow business friend, and then you are sent an offer for an “interview”.
What this really is you filling out a bunch of questions on a form, adding some images, and they toss it DIRECTLY on their site… no interviewing… no editing.
Since I was trying out the $149 intern program for GenM, and this college student of 30 years of age, with training, decided that, instead of following the explicit PR training given to him to take key points to leverage – he too ALL the points and blobbed them in the form.
And with no editor to be featured in VoyageDallas… my entire life’s drama was vomited out onto the page.
